Reputation Management: How to Fight Fake Reviews

reputation management fake reviews

It’s fair to say that a bad review is everyone’s worst nightmare. When the reviews are fake and you have no way of contacting the person, it can be even more troublesome.

Here are some tips to help you fight fake reviews:

  • Respond immediately to the person. While the reviews can say really negative and false statements that make you want to hide under your bed or punch someone in the face, you have to respond immediately to the review in a professional manner that shows other people reading the review that you take feedback seriously.
  • Report the review to the publisher. If it’s on Yelp, report the review to Yelp. If it’s on Google, report the review to Google. In most cases, you can report the review as a violation of the terms and conditions. Please be aware that some publishers will care and some won’t care. You may have to reach out numerous times to get a person that will actually listen to you and not just follow the prompts on their screen.
  • Get more reviews everywhere. The best way to fight people that feel the need to fight you with spamming your listings with bad reviews is to keep doing great work and get more high rating reviews.
  • Get help with reputation management.
